Strategic therapy is a great way to get effective and efficient results! Issues such as anxiety, procrastination, low self-esteem and addictions can leave you feeling stuck permanently with no way out. The bottomline is that these kinds of problems are a range of small steps you have taken as coping mechanisms to help manage challenging circumstances in your past. These small steps can be changed, just like a computer in need of a software update these old coping mechanisms are in need of an update too.

Our day-to-day lives are lived out in the conscious part of our mind which accounts for only 5% of brain activity according to cognitive neuroscientists. It is in this area of our thinking that we believe change occurs, however this is very limiting considering there is 95% of our consciousness unaccounted for - our subconscious/unconscious mind. It is in this arena that our habits, behaviours, emotions, beliefs, values and long term memory to name a few exist. As a Clinical Hypnotherapist using a method known as Ericksonian Hypnosis Peter is trained to use the art of a relaxed mind state known as trance to effectively access the subconscious mind where he can use positive suggestions to rewire outdated modes of thinking and feeling no longer beneficial to you.
Differing from traditional hypnosis which uses directive generic scripts aimed at general issues, Erickson Hypnosis will be completely tailored to you and your specific needs using indirect language and a range of hypnotic language tools to help you achieve your therapy goals in a timely and solution oriented fashion.
How Sessions Work...
Sessions are delivered online via Zoom allowing for you to be in the comfort of your own home and centred completely around you. As a general rule the initial consultation involves meeting with you and discussing your concerns and establishing your desired goals. Peter will then guide you through the session and depending on your needs will incorporate strategic processes and hypnosis where appropriate.
Homework is an important factor in your therapy and your willingness to participate is a key indicator of success in clients, it is homework that helps cement positive change after all! Homework involves listening to a recording of a hypnosis created for you during your session for an arranged period of time along with other tasks aimed at facilitating the development of new skills, processes and thinking/feeling styles. Follow-up sessions will address remaining areas of concern and centre around
your feedback.
